Quisley House Trust is a UK registered charity who seek to bring hope to African orphans living with AIDS or who have lost parents due to HIV/AIDS. These children are unable to change their daily conditions or circumstances, often with no family to turn to for help after losing their parents and homes. We partner with charities who are seeking to assist such orphans in their own local town or city.

Because of a joint Christian team trip to Mbale, Uganda, in August, 2003, to support a local church called Impact Ministries for two weeks, I discovered that the local Church members were trying to support 120 local, living with AIDS orphans, with food and some schooling. By joint agreement Impact Child-Care was formerly set up in Uganda during November 2003, to provide support for these Ugandan orphans in Mbale, East Uganda. They oversee the daily provision of schooling along with provision of meals, clothes, bedding and protective netting for the orphans as required.

Impact Child-Care whom we have been supporting since November, 2003, have received funds that have enabled them to purchase land, to erect school classrooms, to build a kitchen and toilet block to care for the current 700+ orphans in our joint care. We have provided additional funding that has been used to purchase 30 acres of land where maize is grown and used to feed the children. Further purchase of a grinding mill in Mbale, allows the milling of the maize into flour and also allows the charity to raise local funds by charging other users bringing their own maize to the mill.We have jointly developed animal projects on site which teach the children practical skills such as animal husbandry and care. The various animal projects allow additional funding through the sale of piglets, pullets and eggs sold locally.
As the project has developed over the last six years the numbers of supported teachers and their pupils have grown to 12 teachers who teach over 700+ orphans. There are now 320 orphans who live on-site daily and who are supported by 3 matrons. Some of the pupils visiting daily are supported by only one surviving parent who themselves are often affected by HIV/AIDS and therefore unable to work. These orphans are able to receive support and free schooling because of your support and donations. We have been able to meet the practical needs of many of the orphans and look forward to completing the
medical clinic project next to the current Impact School           to further supply treatment and instruction for the orphans.
